2009 Garlic Fest Winners:

Andy Trousdale of LeBistro is the 2009 Garlic Chef.

Adam Gottlieb of Seagate Beach Club took 2nd place.

If you want to experience the heart of the Delray Beach Garlic Fest, you will want to visit the Garlic Chef Stadium where there are three days of cooking demonstrations and competitions. Professional chefs from Florida to California compete in the Garlic Chef Competition. All the courses must, of course, contain garlic.

The Garlic Chef Competition pits hand-selected chefs from South Florida & beyond against each other for the coveted title of Garlic Chef. Each chef faces an opponent where they each must prepare three gourmet dishes, a composed salad, appetizer and entrée, using identical ingredients and a mystery ingredient. These culinary masters have one hour to decide on what their dishes will be, prepare them, cook them and present them to a panel of judges. The judges taste and score each dish and the chef with the highest score will move on to the next round and challenger until there are 2 chefs left for the finals on Sunday. The winner takes home a $1,000 first prize along with the exalted title of Garlic Chef, and the second-place chef receives $500.
